The Animals and the Mirror

The Animals and the Mirror

I've been busy illustrating a children's book this summer and it was so much fun! The book, by author Leo Zarko, is a gentle story featuring some cute and funny animals from all around the world.

Some scientists decide to do a field experiment to see how animals react to seeing themselves in a mirror for the first time. Of course, some are happy with their looks, others are not. The story helps children to understand that it's OK to be different and it's always your inner beauty that the matters the most.

I'm thrilled to be a part of this book and I hope children of all ages are able to enjoy it.

Copies are available on my shop now! Click here.

This is one of my favorite illustrations from the book. The story explains how the lion wants to look less fierce and so considers cutting off his beautiful mane. As tourists stop to look at him, he puts on a show and roars loudly at them, but inside he really wants to meow like a tiny kitten!
We all feel like that sometimes, don't we?

Hope you enjoy the book and happy reading!
